Joel Rogers, Production Manager
Since his days at Stevie Wonder’s Wonderland Studios at the age of 18, Joel Rogers has held nearly every conceivable position in the wings or in a control room: Audio/Video Engineer, Post Production Sound Editor, Productions Sound Mixer, Stage Monitor Mixer, Stage Manager for TV, Concerts and Live Stage. He has managed, Shalamar, Lakeside, and Climax while at Solar Records. He has worked Production for The Golden Globes, The Grammies, Arsenio Hall, Star Search and the premier pop music television presentation, Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert. Rogers has worked with such producers as Ken Ehrlich, Pierre Cossette, and Stan Lathan and has directed Post Production Sound editing and special effect for Television productions including “Star Trek: The Next Generation”, “Deep Space Nine”, and “Star Trek Voyager”.
Eddie Penrice comes to DEG with over 35 years of front-line experience as a Tour Manager and Production Coordinator. He began as a musician and popular radio disc jockey in Kansas City, Missouri. It wasn’t long before he found himself working in the wings rather than downstage center. Currently Special Events Coordinator for the City of Kansas City, Penrice has managed and coordinated tours for such acts as Jeffery Osbourne, En Vogue, Bloodstone, Wayman Tisdale and Luther VanDross.
With 37 years of professional experience, Louis Garrett a musician, tour manager and concert promoter producer in his own right, comes to DEG with a rich and varied background. He has worked with nearly every R&B act to hit the road since 1969 including James Brown, Sly Stone, Blue Magic, Rick James and Tina Marie, Lenny Williams, Whispers, Master P, Lakeside and Midnight Star and Destiny’s Child. Garrett is currently Road and Merchandising Manager for Bloodstone.
For 25 years he served as Road Manager for the Ohio Players, the Commodores, Lakeside and the world famous Laws Family.
With producing credits ranging from the Golf Channel to BET, Bob Norris has developed the reputation for the ability to get it on the air no matter what. Whether it is the first jazz festival to be shot entirely at sea in Celebrity Showboat, or the longest continuous production of 103 music performances for BET Live, Norris has proven himself to be the Iron Man of television production. Bob Norris was the producer of Sound Source Labs for BET from 1995 to 2000, produced television events in Turks and Caicos for BET Jazz, jazz Festivals from the Bahamas to Riverside California developed and managed stage productions nationwide. Outside of production, Norris has performed as a Latin Percussionist with Cannonball Adderly, Marlena Shaw, Della Reese, Aretha Franklin, Joe Sample, Sammy Davis Jr., Joe Williams and many more.
Currently Producing KARAT Films’ The B.A.M.N. Squad, Kim Ogletree has quickly established herself as one of the best in the business with a string of television and motion picture starting in 1999 with TV’s “Rendezvous”, “Intimate Betrayal” and “Incognito”, all as Supervising Producer. Her most recent projects have been theatrical release films including “Hair Show” and “Cuttin’ Da Mustard”.
Head editor on the hit television series “Survivor” since its debut, Eric Gardner is an Emmy Nominee for his work on the show. Gardner has also distinguished himself as a reality television producer on “The Search of the Next Elvira” and others
The son of an Emmy Award winning Fox TV cameraman, Rick Walker’s 30-year track record proves it is not enough to be born into the business. With an extensive list of Industrials, Documentaries, Reality Shows, Infomercials, and DVD’s to his credit, Walker’s reputation as an artist/perfectionist was validated when Barbra Streisand named him her personal photographer. Whenever she’s on camera, Rick Walker is behind the eyepiece. With Streisand, Walker’s credits include “Guilty Pleasures” with Barry Gibb, “Hideaway” and “Stranger in a Strange Land” for Sony/BMG. Walker has also shot her for appearances on the Ellen Degeneres Show, Rosie O’Donnell and Diane Sawyer. Specializing in high-definition photography and lighting for film and video, Walker has been producer/director for ESPN and CBS Olympic coverage, Stevie Wonder, Shaquille O’Neal, Carol Burnett, Bonnie Raitt and Tracy Chapman.
Larry Holland is a versatile, Emmy award winning, Grammy-nominated producer-director with more than thirty years of network and major market television experience. He has distinguished himself as one of the best in the industry through an impressive catalogue of work in entertainment, news and sports programming. Best known for Entertainment programming, as Executive Producer of Music Programming at BET, he produced and directed such hallmark music and entertainment shows as Video Soul, Video LP, Planet Groove, Live from L.A. and Comic View. Other music production credits include Def Jam Concert for HBO and Sound Stage for PBS.
A Golden Globe and DGA Award Nominee and winner of the Emmy Kevin Hooks represents the highest quality of directorial skills and talent the industry has to offer. With a filmography that ranges from the classic motion picture “Sounder” to Fox TV’s hits “Prison Break”, “24” and “Lincoln Heights” there is virtually nothing Kevin Hooks cannot do.
Patrice Rushen, Musical Director/Motion Picture Scoring
Admired by many for her groundbreaking achievements, Grammy Nominee Patrice Rushen has amassed an impressive list of "firsts". She was the first woman in 43 years to serve as Head Composer/Musical Director for television's highest honor, the Emmy Awards, the frst woman to serve as Musical Director for the Grammy Awards and the NAACP Image Awards -- an honor she held for 12 consecutive years. Rushen has been the only woman Musical Director/Composer for the People's Choice Awards, HBO's Comic Relief and the only woman Musical Director/Conductor/Arranger for a late night television talk show, The Midnight Hour on CBS.
She cast Jessica Lange, Cuba Gooding and Samuel L. Jackson in the 1995 film, “Losing Isaiah” as part of her coming out year in motion pictures and went on that year to do “Woman in the Moon” and “Three Wishes” with Patrick Swayze and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio. Shaunda Jones continues to distinguish herself as a creative and insightful casting professional.
A Three-time Emmy Award winner, Tim Philben has worked on countless television series and motion picture projects over the last 27 years. A television Broadcast Engineer, Video Production Engineer, a Production Audio Mixer and Sound Re-recording Mixer/Editor, Philben has been a part of scores of television and motion picture productions including the TV series “Arrested Development”, “Strong Medicine”, “Red Shoe Diaries” and “Jake 2.0” among others. His motion picture credits include “Barbarians at the Gate”, “Dumb and Dumber” and “Panic”.
Mike Parker, Audio mixer
Mike Parker has been in the business for 25 years starting with a host of R&B stars in the early 1980’s.to the late 1990’s. He has been working in Television since 1997 on shows including The Grammies, The American Music Awards, Country Music Awards, the ESPY Awards, American Idol, The Super bowl halftime shows, most of the Motown TV specials, as well as Motown Live and many TV sit-coms.

Larry Sanchez, Audio Mixer
Larry Sanchez is currently, the front of house mixer for Poncho Sanchez (no relation) as well as the Production Manager. He has worked with many of the nations Latin groups, including Los Lobos, Tiara, Mark Anthony, and many others.
Rick Camp, Audio Mixer
Rick Camp started cutting records for the Solar Records Label in the early 1980’s, with The Whispers, Shalamar, Lakeside, Klimaxx, Gap Band, Howard Hewett and many others. Rick is an all around audio engineer.
Donnie Lewis, Lighting
Donnie Lewis started in the late 1970’s at NBC Studios, working on such shows as “The Dean Martin Show”, “The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson”, and “The Gong Show”. He later started working in the film industry, doing set lighting for Burbank Studios, now Warner Bros. Studios. Later he moved over to Paramount Studios, and worked on TV dramas including “Matlock” as a gaffer, and “Frasier”. Donnie is still the Set Lighting Department Supervisor at Paramount Studios.
Ed Brantley, Lighting
Ed Brantley has been doing lighting design since the late 1980’s, with acts like Frankie Beverly and Maze, Toni Braxton and Cameo, just to name a few.
Jack E. McLean, Lighting
Jack McLean launched his professional climb as an electrician on a big film, “Terms of Endearment” in 1983, but his progress was as steady as his achievements on the set. Three years later he was Lamp Operator on “Pretty In Pink”. An electrician on the 1988 film, “Milagro Beanfield War”, he rose to Chief Lighting Technician on “Pink Cadillac” in 1989, chalking up “The Rookie” in 1990 in the same position and Chief Rigging Lighting Technician on “Forest Gump” in 1994. 1997 brought “Money Talks” and “Titanic”.
Winner of the Saturn Award for “Godzilla” and Nominated for his work in “Stargate”, when it comes to Special Effects, CGI or Creature design one need only say “Patrick Tatopolous”. “Independence Day”, “Stuart Little”, “Battlefield Earth”, “I Robot”, “Outlander”, “Resident Evil”, “I Am Legend” and “10,000 B.C.” are all films that bear his unique stamp.
